What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is the unity of modern medicine with traditional therapies. At Amrita, we rely on our past to provide answers for the future. Through traditional therapies, we are able to address the underlying causes of issues and treat the body as a whole, not just the problematic area. Since our bodies are complex systems, we believe that treating the whole body with natural therapies will lead to a more well-rounded approach to pain relief and finding a cure, leading to fewer recurring issues.

Naturopathic physicians rely on the traditional, holistic treatments to heal the body, mind and spirit. The goal of naturopathic medicine is to support and promote the body’s natural healing process, leading to the highest state of wellness.

The Healing Powers of Nature

The Healing Powers of Nature

The Healing Power of Nature is the inherent healing process of living systems. It is Amrita’s role to support, facilitate and supplement this natural process by discovering and removing obstacles to recovery and complete health, and by aiding the creation of a healthy internal and external environment.

Identify and Treat the Causes

Identify and Treat the Causes

Illness and injury do not occur without cause. Causes may originate in many areas, not just the area of pain. Underlying causes of illness and disease must be identified and removed before complete recovery can occur. Amrita seeks to treat the causes of disease, rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.

Do No Harm

Do No Harm

We use only substances which minimize the risk of harmful effects, and apply the least force to restore health. We avoid suppression of symptoms, as this generally interferes with the healing process. We respect the Healing Power of Nature, for if it is not respected, the patient may be further harmed.
